.Stampington & Company - Artful Blogging.

There are very few publications out there that I really think are worth going crazy over. I must admit, Stampington & Co. publish some fantastic works and I will drive to anywhere just so I can get my hands on a copy! Here recently, they have come up with some new publications that have helped to inspire me in more ways than I can even begin to mention. My personal favorites: Artful Blogging, Life Images, and Somerset Life. The first is a collection of photos, stories, and partial blog postings by fellow bloggers. It was through this current issue that I finally decided to take the plunge into this seemingly wonderful new way of journaling. The magnificent colors and textures in this magazine/book is just amazing! The bloggers themselves, an inspiration.
Life Images is a collection of photos and journaling submitted by readers. The photos range from amazing "Kodak Moments" to the simple, usually overlooked, pieces of our everyday lives. The combination of photo and word are pleasing to behold.
Somerset Life displays fabulous pages of how some very talented readers apply creativity into their lives. Tons of fabulous photos to draw you in and leave you ancy to pull out your craft box, ribbons, buttons, paper, glue and scissors, and finally create!
I suggest that anyone looking for some artistic and creative "eye candy" just need to stop by their local bookstore and pick up a copy of any one of the Stamping & Company publications. Believe me, it's a feast for the eyes and you won't want to put it down!

.last one.

After a long day at work, I sometimes find myself opening up a box of bourbon balls that I keep safely in my fridge. A delight that I have come to love since moving here to the Bluegrass. I savor the mixture of texture and taste when a sugar candy, soaked in bourbon, shrouded by a cloak of dark chocolate and topped with a single pecan meet. Mmm... Oh what simple joys it brings to an otherwise bland day. But alas! I came home the other night only to discover that my beloved box of Kentucky goodness sat empty save ONE single bourbon ball. Honestly, I could not bring myself to go ahead and ravish the poor little sweet without a tribute. And so, I have captured a shot of the highly sought after delicacy (mainly for myself) just moments before its demise. And my tastebuds are thankful.

.hello.

Hello vast cyber world and all those who dwell in it! I'm not exactly sure how I should even start this initial acquaintance but I must say, that I'm glad that we've met. I have decided to start this blog as a way for me to pull myself out of the mundane, daily routine of life that has become, unfortunately, void of much creativity. My mind is constantly wandering off into places and things that seem too far away to touch. The artist trapped inside is dying to find a place to escape to for at least a little while. Maybe that place is here. Seems like a nice, cozy spot for me to chill for a bit. As I sit here at the computer desk, looking at a "rambling" journal that I've started to keep, sitting beside my cup of chai, I smile knowing that I think I have finally found a place I can be...just me, my thoughts, with a cup of chai tea.
